Tracing the Trail-March 2024-Part 1

The research team has turned its focus on tracing our ancestors steps from Virginia to Alabama to Texas. We always knew all of our ancestors who were enslaved on the Curtis Plantation in Cahaba, Alabama were not taken to Grimes County, Texas. At about the same time both the Curtis families and Binkley families were heading towards Kansas. While we are nearly certain the Binkleys got the word directly from Benjamin “Pap” Singleton (pictured here) who was in Nashville at the same time they were, we are not certain of how the Curtises got the word to make the pilgrimage to Kansas.
